What’s planned for the SixCentral beta?

As many of you already know, we’ve chosen to postpone the beta a few weeks for two reasons:

  1. We realized that our timeline for fixing bugs was a bit unrealistic. We only have 7 outstanding bugs right now — but we know we will encounter more when we finish the last few features.
  2. We decided to add more features to the beta. We had originally drawn the line in the sand and cut it off — however we felt that to get the full SixCentral experience, we needed a few more bits and pieces added for people to truly see the value of the product.

With that said, we are planning the beta release at the end of March, however we are keeping the original full launch tentative date of early June.  So you may be wondering, what’s actually in the beta?  Well here is the feature list:

  1. Manage clients (create/modify/delete & add private notes)
  2. Manage proposals (create/modify/delete/comment/reply/import & send to client)
  3. Dashboard (group proposals/clients, as well as advanced log stats of where your client/proposal activity is coming from)

Seems like a pretty complete app, and could probably be released by itself; however there are other features we plan to add:

  1. Client ability to Accept/Decline/Postpone proposals/invoices
  2. Send invoices/estimates (via Freshbooks API)
  3. Create contracts
  4. Calendar scheduling (follow-ups and deadline dates)

Then of course there are the other mediums we would like to hit:

  1. iPhone application
  2. Desktop applications/widgets

As you can see, we have a very full product feature list and a pretty tight deadline to get everything done. Please be patient, as we are working tirelessly (at our day jobs and after work) on getting this application to some people as soon as possible.

Also if you all could do us a favor, please help us spread the word about the application. Tweet, retweet, blog and e-mail our blog/site/Twitter to everyone you think may be interested.
